Transcontinental Railroad: Colossus of the Age

December 2 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Free

The United States’ first transcontinental railroad was built between 1863 and 1869, connecting the existing eastern U.S. rail network at Council Bluffs, Iowa, with the Pacific coast at the Oakland Long Wharf on San Francisco Bay.

Come hear the colorful tale of the ceremonial driving of the “Last Spike” as told by speaker, Chris Claud.

Join us as at Lee Hall Depot as he shares many of the fascinating stories of the transcontinental railroad.

This rail heritage program is cosponsored by the City of Newport News and Lee Hall Train Station Foundation.
