If your class is not able to visit us, our trained museum educators will visit your classroom! Educational outreach programs include Life of a Civil War Soldier, The Home Front in the Civil War, Slavery and the Civil War, and Civil War Battles and Leaders in Virginia. Programs are hands-on and interactive, using a variety of primary- and secondary-source documents, period images, and reproduction artifacts. A list of the curriculum standards met by each program is available upon request.

Outreach programs last 45 minutes with additional time for questions. The fee is $165 per group, and a discount is offered for Newport News Public Schools.
